Over 1,700 women devotees from across Kenya gathered to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the BAPS Mandir in Nairobi.
Themed ‘Making a Mandir Within – Chaitanya Mandir’, the vibrant celebration focused on inner development. Presented by 325 participants from 9 BAPS centers (Athi River, Eldoret, Kericho, Kisumu, Mombasa, Nakuru, Nairobi, Ruiru and Thika), the program featured a compelling blend of cultural expressions, live stage dramas depicting resilience and empowerment, thought-provoking video presentations and enthralling cultural dances showcasing India’s rich culture. The event encouraged women to focus on spiritual growth, strengthen values and contribute positively to families and society.
Among the chief guests were Mrs Kalpa Padia, Managing Director of Raka Cheese; Sujata Kotamraju, Hindu Council of Kenya Chairlady; Miss Nisha Hirani, Managing Director of ‘The Asian Weekly’; and Mrs Mona Wadhwana, wife of Deputy Indian High Commissioner to Kenya.
Women from all walks of life shared heartfelt stories about how the spirit of selfless service, the preservation of traditional arts and culture, and the joy of divine bliss have enriched their lives. The event concluded with a lively finale dance celebrating the essence of the mandir in all its forms.
