Under the guidance of Mahant Swami Maharaj, over 200 BAPS centers and 33 mandirs across 16 nations in Africa, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana and others, joyously celebrated the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Pranpratishtha.
Devotees honored the occasion by participating in Shri Ram Bhajan, Shri Ram Kirtan, Shri Ram Pujan, Shri Ram Samvad and Shri Ram Arti.
The BAPS Mandir in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, held a five-day recitation of Goswami Tulsidasji’s ‘Ramcharitmanas’. Swamis and devotees also visited the local Ram Mandir to reverently offer an ‘akshat kalash’. On 21 January, Bhagwan Shri Ram, Shri Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj and the ‘akshat kalash’ were honored in a palanquin procession.
On 22 January, all BAPS mandirs in Africa placed Bhagwan Shri Ram’s murti on a decorated seat and also offered an annakut.
In many cities BAPS devotees organized and participated with other local organizations in processions, pujan, pothi yatras, kirtan aradhanas, speeches, yagnas, Ram dhun, Hanuman Chalisa recitals, Ramaraksha Stotra recitals, Shri Vishnusahasranam stotra recital, flower abhishek of Bhagwan Shri Ram, fireworks displays, rangolis and other celebratory events.
Also, postal stamps of Shri Ram Bhagwan were published by the Government of Burundi.
At the BAPS Mandir in Johannesburg, HE Prabhat Kumar (High Commissioner of India), Mr. Sudhir Khurana (Vice Consul General of India), and other dignitaries participated in the celebrations.
