More than 300 devotees of various age groups participated in a devotional pad-yatra in Lisbon, Portugal, as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the opening of BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir.
The pad-yatra took place amid glorious summer sunshine on Sunday 12 May, starting at Alameda D. Afonso Henriques and concluding at the Mandir on Alameda Gago Coutinho. It followed the same route as the nagar yatra during the murti-pratishtha festival in 2014.
Throughout the journey to the Mandir, participants sang kirtans, creating a joyful, devotional atmosphere. The local authorities and BAPS volunteers also provided essential support to all the walkers.
Upon arrival at the Mandir, the participants enjoyed darshan of the murtis in the Mandir, thereafter gathering for a communal lunch.
