On August 24, 2024, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Philadelphia, PA, hosted the sacred Murti Pratishtha of Shri Nilkanth Varni Maharaj, marking a day filled with spiritual joy and devotion. The auspicious occasion, graced by the presence of revered swamis, left a lasting impact on all who attended.
The eagerly awaited consecration ceremony of Shri Nilkanth Varni Maharaj took place in the presence of Pujya Gnanpriyadas Swami, Pujya Yogananddas Swami, Pujya Nirdoshcharitdas Swami, and other swamis. The day began with a vibrant Nagar Yatra, a procession filled with devotion and energy. Pujya Swamis led the Nagar Yatra and devotees joined them in joyous singing, creating an atmosphere of pure devotion.
Following the nagar yatra, a Vedic Mahapuja took place, with the air resonating with sacred chants and prayers. The spiritual ambiance set the perfect stage for the main event – the Murti-Pratishtha ceremony of Shri Nilkanth Varni Maharaj. Pujya Gnanpriyadas Swami performed the consecration ceremony. This ceremony signifies the transformation of the murti into a living deity infused with divine energy. Thereafter, swamis performed the first abhishek and arti of the newly consecrated murti. As water was poured over the murti and the arti was performed, a profound sense of peace and spiritual elevation embraced the gathering, creating a memorable and divine experience for all.
