A momentous two-day celebration marked the auspicious opening of the new BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir in Albury, in the presence of BAPS swamis from the ANZ region, devotees and well-wishers.
On 19 January, leaders from various communities and local professionals joined devotees in a grand procession along a picturesque route through Noreuil Park, South Albury, in honor of the sacred murtis.
In the evening, swamis and youths presented a melodious medley of devotional bhajans, gracefully conveying the timeless traditions and enduring values that mandirs instil within individuals and the local community, creating an atmosphere of spiritual harmony and cultural richness.
On the morning of 20 January, devotees and members of the local Hindu community participated in the Vedic mahapuja ceremony. Paramchintan Swami and other swamis then performed the sacred Vedic rituals to officially inaugurate the mandir. Following these profound rites, a grand annakut was offered to the divine murtis.
Previously, in Gondal, on 30 October 2022, His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj had performed the Vedic murti-pratishtha rituals of the murtis.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Justin Clancy (MP), Member of the Legislative Assembly for Albury and other esteemed guests.
