The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi emerged as a global cultural and spiritual hub in 2024, hosting sacred and soulful events, and welcoming devotees and dignitaries from around the world.
The year began, while the Mandir was in the final stages of construction, with a visit by over 80 ambassadors and diplomats on 29 January, followed by a grand welcome for His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj on 5 February. The Mandir’s Dedication Ceremony, performed by Mahant Swami Maharaj, on 14 February was the highlight of a week filled with spiritually uplifting events that included a Vedic Yagna for Global Harmony, Day of Harmony, and Day of Gratitude, showcasing the Mandir’s commitment to fostering unity.
Throughout the year, the Mandir celebrated major cultural and religious festivals such as Maha Shivratri on 8 March, Holi on 24 March, and Janmashtami on 26 August. Special gatherings like the Omsiyyat Interfaith Cultural Evening on 2 April and participation in the International Conference of Religious Leaders in Malaysia on 7 May brought together diverse communities.
The Mandir’s impact was recognized in November when it was awarded the Best Cultural Project across MENA 2024 and the Best Cultural Project in the UAE. The Diwali and Annakut celebrations on 2 November concluded the year on a festive note.
Prominent visitors included Indian leaders like Dr. S. Jaishankar and global figures like Ray Dalio, as well as celebrities like Rajnikanth, Akshay Kumar and Shankar Mahadevan, reflecting the Mandir’s universal appeal.
Over two million visitors from all walks of life have experienced the Mandir’s serenity and spirituality firsthand.
By hosting religious festivals and interfaith events, the BAPS Hindu Mandir stands as a symbol of cultural harmony, spiritual enrichment, and community engagement, leaving a deep and lasting impact.
