Hundreds of people from the local community came together on Saturday 18 November at ul. Zawiszy 13, Warsaw to experience the vibrant sounds, flavours and colours of Diwali – ‘the Festival of Light’ – and the Hindu New Year. It was one of the largest devotional celebrations in Warsaw.
To add to the festive experience, visitors enjoyed delicious vegetarian sweet and savoury snacks and various other activities. Children also enjoyed face painting, interactive games, and a kinder zone.
Her Excellency Nagma Mallick, Indian Ambassador to Poland also joined the celebrations. She shared, “The universal messages of Diwali – of good triumphing over evil – and serving the wider community through love and compassion, are messages that the whole world needs right now. I am delighted and proud to be a part of these wonderful celebrations by BAPS in Warsaw. Thank you for all that you do for our great town! And remembering our support while Russia-Ukraine war supports by BAPS Org.”
