Representatives from over 27 local Hindu mandirs and communities, such as Hindu Counil of Kenya, ISKCON Temple, Balaji Temple, Pattni Brotherhood, Oshwal Community, Lohana Samaj, Sikh Community, Patel Brotherhood and others, attended the Unity Forum at BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Nairobi. Titled ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ the forum featured discussions on protecting and preserving Vedic Hindu Sanatan Dharma.
Addressing the assembly, Mahamahopadhyaya Bhadreshdas Swami talked about the importance of coming together to sustain bhasha (language), bhusha (attire), bhojan (food) and bhajan (spirituality) – the four roots Hindu culture. He reminded everyone about the importance of respecting every place of worship, their traditions and culture. He also explained the importance of mandir (temple), shastra (scripture) and sant (spiritual leader) as the foundations of Sanatan Hindu Dharma, and of encouraging youths to daily read our shastras. He prayed for harmony and peace amongst all, and the strengthening of Vedic Sanatan values.
His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj sent his blessings for the event, “In the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, meaning the world is one family, let’s extend the circle of global harmony.”
All who attended appreciated the BAPS Sanstha’s efforts to promote harmony and unity by organizing the Unity Forum and were inspired with renewed pride for Vedic Sanatan Dharma.
