By the grace of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the inspiration of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, the Prasad Pravesh Vidhi of BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Brandon, Manitoba took place on Friday, July 1, 2022.
The Prasad Pravesh ceremony is usually performed on entering a new premise or building for the first time. It unites the entire community with prayers for peace and harmony and purifies the space for a new beginning with positive energy. The traditional rituals involved sanctification of the mandir building and prayers for peace and well-being throughout the community, province, and country.
The religious ceremony included a Vedic mahapuja in which participants prayed for peace, harmony, well-being, and righteous prosperity to prevail throughout the local community and worldwide.
The new mandir will facilitate activities and events for young and old alike, including children and youth activities, language classes, and traditional music classes, to preserve Hindu traditions, heritage, and spiritual values. As a place of harmony, it will welcome people of all faiths to experience and understand Hindu traditions and spirituality. It will also serve as a venue for hosting charitable activities and events in support of the local community.
