Major BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu mandirs and centres across the UK held a series of inspiring celebratory programmes over the course of 2022 for thousands of community members to join in commemorating the centennial birth anniversary of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
As the world continues to grapple with discord, disease and degradation, the need to uphold values, preserve culture and strengthen harmony has never been greater. Each programme was thus titled ‘Inspired Living: A Celebration of Values, Culture & Harmony’.
Drawing from the inspiring life, values and work of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the two-hour programme included insightful talks, video shows, a panel discussion, traditional Indian folk dancing and devotional singing. Swamis from India and the UK, performers of various ages from across the country as well as members of the local community all came together to deliver this devotional celebratory performance.
The event served as an opportunity for various charity partners, faith representatives and civic leaders to also share their personal experiences on how the work of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha inspired by Pramukh Swami Maharaj has supported individuals, families and the wider community in their local region. They came to especially appreciate Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s timeless, universal life-lesson: “In the joy of others lies our own.”
