Myanmar President Win Myint and First Lady Daw Cho Cho visited Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi as part of an official state visit to India. The 28-member Myanmar delegation also included the Union Minister for International Cooperation Mr. U Kyaw Tin, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Mr. Thura U Aung Ko, Union Minister for Transport and Communications Mr. U Thant Sin Maung, Chief Minister Rakhine State Mr. U Nyi Pu and Myanmar Ambassador to India Mr. Moe Kyaw Aung.
President Myint was traditionally greeted by Gnanmuni Swami on behalf of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, the sixth spiritual leader of BAPS.
“I am delighted to pay a visit to the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple, home to rich art and architecture that demonstrates the rich culture and traditions of Hinduism,” President Mynit said.
President Myint, along with the delegation offered their respects at the Swaminarayan Akshardham Mandir and performed abhishek to share sentiments for world peace and harmony.
The Myanmar delegation then viewed the Gajendra Pithika (Elephant Plinth) that features 148 lifelike carved stone elephants depicting messages of social harmony, peace, and spirituality. They also experienced the Sanskruti Vihar boat ride exhibition that displays 10,000 years of India’s heritage and contributions to society.
