With the blessing of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj and His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, Pujya Priyasevadas Swami and Pujya Yogikirtandas Swami, embarked upon Satsang Vicharan in Guyana for the first time from March 9, 2019, to March 13, 2019. Guyana, a country located on South America’s North Atlantic coast has an ethnically heterogeneous population with over 43.5% of population consisting of Indo-Guyanese. This satsang vicharan tour to Guyana was undertaken with the aim of strengthening the faith of devotees and the Hindu community to live by the principles of Hinduism.
Pujya Swamis conducted the first satsang assembly in Georgetown at Pravinbhai Dave’s residence on Sunday, March 10, 2019. The Sabha was held in presence of His Excellency Mr. V Mahalingam, High Commissioner of India to Guyana. The assembly commenced with kirtan-bhakti by Pujya Yogikirtandas Swami followed by a discourse by Pujya Priyasevadas Swami on atma-realization. Speaking on the occasion His Excellency Mr. V Mahalingam appreciated the activities undertaken by BAPS. Pujya Swamis also greeted Dr. Yesu Pershaud, Chairman of Demerara Bank Ltd.
Pujya Swamis visited several Hindu mandirs, homes of devotees and the Saraswati Vidya Niketan. Pujya Swami Aksharanandaji, the founder of Saraswati Vidya Niketan welcomed Pujya Swamis with garlands and shawls. Pujya Swamis addressed an assembly of over 500 students emphasizing the importance of spirituality in their lives. This satsang vicharan helped rejuvenate and strengthen satsang among devotees residing in Guyana.
