Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj, along with Shri Harikrishna Maharaj and sadhus, visited the State House to meet HE Uhuru Kenyatta, the President of Kenya. Atmaswarup Swami gave a brief introduction of the BAPS, Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj and shared Swamishri’s three messages of humility, respect and service towards all with the president.
Swamishri prayed for Kenya, “May God bless the whole country with peace, progress and prosperity,” and presented the president with a decorative silver khumb, ‘Transcendence’ and other mementos.
Many years ago, Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj had presented a rosary (mala) to the president’s father, Mr. Jomo Kenyatta (when he was the president). Remembering this, Swamishri also presented a rosary to the president by putting the rosary around his neck, and then tied a nadachhadi on his wrist.
After the meeting, the president came all the way to the porch to bid farewell to Swamishri and the sadhus.
