Bhagwan Shri Krishna's birth anniversary converging on the central theme of "Mam Ekam Sharanam Vraja" (Surrender unto God) was celebrated at Houston, TX in the presence of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj. The program was filled with colorful decorations and consisted of melodious bhajans, skits, short talks, and dances performed by youths.
Valuable life lessons around community values, morality, and faith in God are derived through various incidents from the life of Bhagwan Shri Krishna and messages from the Shrimad Bhagwad Gita. Some of these anecdotes were brought to life throughout the program, providing attendees with practical applications of applying these lessons to their own lives. Similar teachings were also discussed by Bhagwan Swaminarayan throughout the Vachanamrut and through incidents from his life and the lives of devotees during that time.
Guru Pramukh Swami Maharaj emphasized the tradition of celebrating such festivals as a means to preserve timeless teachings and also to inform and inspire modern youths. Guru Mahant Swami Maharaj continues to inspire these programs to preserve rich traditions and shape well-informed future generations, emphasizing the need to maintain samp (unity) and strengthen family values.
