Due to the unexpected torrential rains in Mumbai, commuters traveling from the Dadar Railway Station opposite the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Dadar, Mumbai, were left stranded and unable to reach home. Despite the mandir also being flooded, at short notice, the sadhus and volunteers cooked and served hot food till 12.30 a.m. and provided overnight accommodation at the mandir. Over 3,000 commuters were served and provided overnight sanctuary from the heavy, persistent rains.
