The Akshar-Purushottam Darshan, revealed by Bhagwan Swaminarayan in the Vachanamrut, was recently proclaimed by the Kashi Vidvat Parishad, an authoritative body of scholars on Vedic studies whose rulings are recognized worldwide, as an authentic Darshan based on true Vedic and Upanishadic traditions. The bhashyas and vadagranth of Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s Akshar-Purushottam Darshan were written by Bhadresh Swami, with the blessings, guidance and inspiration of Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
In Vadodara, as part of the 4-day celebrations of Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s 97th birthday, a grand nagar yatra in honor of these profound texts was organized through the main streets of Vadodara. The bhashyas and vadagranth were honored in traditional style by placing them atop a decorated elephant, together with the murti of Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj, the founder of BAPS.
The grand procession, which stretched for two kilometers, included 12 decorated floats, saints singing devotional songs, dancing troupes of children and youths, mounted horses, women devotees carrying kalashes, groups of devotees from various places and other items. Thousands joyously participated in the procession to honor the texts and the liberating doctrine revealed by Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
