Akshar Deri is the sacred place in Gondal where Aksharbrahman Gunatitanand Swami was cremated. This consecrated, sanctified, divine, sacred and wish-fulfilling holy place, Akshar Deri, will complete 150 years in 2018.
A year of inspiring activities and projects have been organized for devotees, visitors and the community to mark the 150th anniversary of the Akshar Deri. As part of these year-long celebrations, and to deepen their understanding of the Akshar Deri’s glory, women of all ages gathered for a Mahila Din assembly based on the theme, ‘Akshar Derinu Divya Samarthya’ – ‘The Divine Power of the Akshar Deri’.
The Mahila Din was celebrated in the presence of Smt. Anjaliben Rupani (Wife of Gujarat CM Mr. Vijay Rupani), Smt. Bhuvaneshwari Kumari from the Royal Family of Gondal and other guests. More than 30,000 women devotees from around the Saurashtra region of Gujarat attended the grand Mahila Din assembly.
The evening assembly began with dhun, prarthana and kirtans describing the glory of Akshar Deri. Thereafter a skit ‘Akshar Deri Suvarna Gatha’ was presented by the yuvatis depicting the history, glory and divine power of the Akshar Deri. The program also included colorful dances by the balikas and yuvatis portraying the diverse activities carried out by the women devotees throughout the year.
