On the riverfront of the sacred River Ghela in Gadhada a special tribute assembly was held to honor the saintly life, selfless works and timeless legacy of HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj, who passed away to Akshardham on 13 August 2016.
Organized by the Gadhada town nagarpalika committee, the gathering took place in the presence of Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s successor, HH Mahant Swami Maharaj, dignitaries and representatives from all walks of life and communities in Gadhada, as well as residents and devotees.
Representatives speaking on behalf of all the local communities paid tribute to HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj, fondly recalling their interactions with him. They also presented flower garlands and shawls to HH Mahant Swami Maharaj to welcome and honor him on his first visit to Gadhada as the new guru of BAPS.
On this occasion, Viveksagar Swami, other sadhus and the MLA for the region, Shri Atmaram Parmar also paid tribute to HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Tribute messages from many organizations and dignitaries were also read out.
At the conclusion of the assembly, HH Mahant Swami Maharaj blessed the gathering.
On this occasion, the local authorities declared the name of the riverfront road adjacent to the BAPS Mandir as ‘Yagnapurush Marg’, and the bridge below Akshar Ghat as ‘Gunatit Setu’.
