BAPS Mandirs across North America held a Kids’ Diwali Celebration themed “Diwali: A New Beginning”. The festival of Diwali is ceremonial, symbolizing new beginnings and a renewed commitment to family. Diwali presents Hindus with an opportunity to celebrate the timeless traditions of their roots. By reflecting on the prior year, the youth were encouraged to make resolutions. These resolutions are meant to be measurable, to allow the youth to refer to them throughout the year. In addition to the stage program families participated in the event by spending time enriching a cultural legacy by sitting together in puja’s and participating in arti as a family.
BAPS youth activities aims to create an environment where each and every youth can develop spiritually, mentally, physically, socially, and emotionally, ultimately become closer to God and Sant. Also, BAPS encourages the youth to be confident with their identity. The Kids’ Diwali Celebration served as a festive environment for children to grow closer in the common cultural ties that bind them together.
Realizing this importance, BAPS, inspires its members to organize programs to not only celebrate Hindu festivals including Diwali, across all BAPS centers worldwide but also enrich the youth with meaningful lessons to enable them to become ideal youth and assets to society and the community.
