Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj had consecrated a mandir in Mwanza in the year 1977. Since then satsang has been flourishing in this city through the constant vicharan of Swamishri, senior sadhus and other sadhus.
Through the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Mwanza, murti-pratishtha mahotsav of Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj to be consecrated in Shree Sanatan Dharma Mandir (Hindu Union) was held on the 1-2 August 2015.
On the afternoon of 1 August, a colorful nagar yatra was held in the streets of Mwanza where hundreds of devotees and well wishers took part. The murti-pratishtha rituals began with the mahapuja on the morning of 2 August in the presence of Priyavrat Swami the Kothari of BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Nairobi and other sadhus. Thereafter the murtis of Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj were installed in the mandir.
