The 15th anniversary celebration held on Friday, October 30 through Sunday, November 1, 2015 marked a historical moment for BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Birmingham, AL.
Through the inspiration of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, Pujya Swamis, devotees and well-wishers from around the region converged to mark this momentous occasion. Décor created by volunteer efforts adorned the halls and Mandir complex, creating a festive environment for the occasion.
The festivities began with a program for women on October 31, 2015. Through a series of skits, musical interludes, and elevating talks, attendees explored the importance of cultivating a value-based life through the practice of becoming ideal devotees followed by the Suvarna Tula. The evening culminated with the melodious sounds of a Kirtan Aradhana, wherein Pujya Shobhitswarupdas Swami, Pujya Shukhmuni Swami and multiple singers and musicians sang devotional hymns from the region.
On November 1, 2015, the anniversary celebration began with a mahapuja, along with an annakut. The main Patotsav program themed Nishtavan Bhavaha, showcased the value of leading a Satsang-centric life through a series of videos and skits.
Sadguru Pujya Mahant Swami (Pujya Keshavjivandas Swami), Sadguru Pujya Dr. Swami (Pujya Swayamprakashdas Swami), and Sadguru Pujya Kothari Swami (Pujya Bhaktipriyadas Swami), sent video blessings specifically for the occasion. Additionally, Pujya Shantmurtidas Swami and Pujya Gnanpriya Swami gave a keynote speech emphasizing the importance of Hindu values, and the integral role that Mandir plays in the community to build a foundation for these values.
Preparation for this unique event started months ago with devotees of all ages joining to plan the event which was a fitting tribute to a decade of growth and expansion into the community.
