The acts and deeds of great people are never in vain. Their lives are like journeys. More than merely traveling, they lift us to the summits of goodness, greatness and gratitude. BAPS Mandirs across North America organized an inspiring celebration themed Yash Gatha portraying a musical journey into the lives of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Bhagwan Rama.
A laudable program presented by the children and youth illustrated various incidents from Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s birth through his voyage as Nilkanth Varni into several parts of India. The story further developed to describe the spiritual teachings of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the message behind his actions. Following the codes and standards shared through ancient Hindu scriptures including the Vedas and Upanishads, he taught others to live by virtues such as compassion and integrity to spiritually enhance their lives. These teachings were further shared through the stories narrated about Bhagwan Rama, who sacrificed everything to be the ideal son while maintaining his dharma.
The music connected with the members of the audience to bring them together in commemoration of the birth and legacy of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Today, their journey continues to inspire thousands of devotees to follow the same moral teachings.
