BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Wellingborough held its annual Akhand Dhun on Tuesday 1 January 2013. This year marked the 30th New Year gathering in Wellingborough where visitors from across the country joined in 12 hours of continuous prayers for world peace, harmony and well-being for the year ahead.
The prayers began at 7am and devotees arrived throughout the day, braving the bitterly cold weather. Devotees offered prayers, prostrations and performed circumambulations at the Akshar Deri which is housed inside the mandir.
Refreshments and meals were also provided throughout the day.
