Having spent 92 years of selflessly serving society and consoling individuals, His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s love and compassion for all beings knows no bounds. His contributions to society and the lives of individuals and families are truly beyond measure. How can we express our gratitude towards our Guru who has given us the gift of spiritual transformation, inner contentment, enduring faith and mental peace?
Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s 92nd birthday celebrations which took place across North America answered this question through a unique cultural program presented by the children and youth of BAPS. The theme of the cultural program was “Guru Roon Ada Kem Karie?”
The auspicious event commenced with Dhun, Prarthna and was followed by lilting kirtans extolling the glory of the Satpurush. The program was interspersed with skits, touching speeches and videos presentations wherein devotees learned how Pramukh Swami Maharaj has willingly followed instructions, even by giving up one’s preferences, how he has uncomplainingly adjusted to prevailing circumstances, how he has tolerated others and how he has unconditionally helped others. Attendees left with an understanding that we have to imbibe these virtues in our lives to truly express our gratitude to our Guru.
