Shree Nilkanth Varni and Guru Parampara Murti Pratishtha celebrations took place in the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Sankari (Surat District), in Gujarat. The festivities took place from 5th to 7th Dec, 2012.
Celebrations began on 5th Dec, 2012 with a Vishwashanti Mahayagna in which over 5,400 Yajmaans participated in the traditional rituals and prayed for World Peace. Mahaprasad arrangements were made for all Yajmaans and devotees present.
On the afternoon of 6th Dec, 2012, the Murtis to be consecrated were taken around the city of Bardoli (Surat district), in a grand Nagar Yatra.
On the morning of 7th Dec, 2012, the Murtis of Shree Nilkanth Varni and Guru Parampara were consecrated in the Mandir with Vedic rites by Pujya Mahant Swami, Pujya Acharya Swami and other senior Sadhus. A Pratishtha sabha was organised after the Murti Pratistha vidhi. Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj's 92nd birthday was also celebrated on this occasion. More than 30,000 devotees attended this event.
