On 10 August 2012, Janmasthami was celebrated and a Mahapuja Ceremony was held at the newly acquired site for the new BAPS Mandir in Perth in the presence of Jnanpurush Swami and Adarshmuni Swami. Devotees and well- wishers offered prayers for the new mandir project and also prayed for world peace. Shri M. Subbarayudu, Consul General of India, was also present for the occasion.
Children and youths gave an excellent presentation of ‘Krishna Leela’ – a musical dance-drama depicting divine episodes from the life of Krishna Bhagwan. Also, youths sang bhajans commemorating the Janmasthami festival. Finally, the sadhus spoke on the life and message of Krishna Bhagwan, citing examples and episodes from the Bhagvad Gita and the Shrimad Bhagwat Puran.
