BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha in New Zealand recently raised funds for the devastating earthquake of 22 February, 2011 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Hundreds of people perished and thousands of others were rendered homeless by the catastrophe. BAPS volunteers from Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington and other cities reached out to help in this time of need. They managed to raise NZ$30,000 from their efforts. A cheque for the amount was presented to the area manager of Red Cross in Christchurch by the local BAPS representatives on 2 April, 2011 The Red Cross appreciated BAPS for this donation towards a noble cause.
