For the first time, on Sunday 2 May 2010, a Yuvak-Yuvati Shibir was held at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Auckland, New Zealand. Around 75 yuvaks and yuvatis attended this one day shibir which was conduted by BAPS sadhus from India. The Shibir theme centred on providing a better understanding of our traditional values.
Adarshmuni Swami shed light on some aspects of Indian culture and its pristine heritage.
Then Brahmmuni Swami and Vivekpriya Swami reminded the youngsters for the need to adhere our religious traditions and customs at a time when they are constantly being challenged by peer pressure.
Inspiring video excerpts of speeches of the Sadguru Santo helped the youths understand the necessity of applying basic religious norms such as applying the tilak chandlo, preforming daily puja and attending the weekly Sunday sabha.
This shibir also helped in reinforcing the pure and spiritual essence of Hinduism that BAPS so proudly maintains.
