Between November 2010 and February 2011 several groups of BAPS sadhus graced various centers in East and South Africa, celebrating festivals, conducting satsang assemblies and shibirs and performing home visits.
From 11 to 21 December 2010, all the sadhus were present in Kampala for the Golden Jubilee celebrations of satsang in Uganda.
Between 18 November and 1 January 2011, Pujya Ishwarcharan Swami, Anandswarup Swami and two sadhus visited BAPS centers in South Africa: Johannesburg (Lenasia & Mayfair), Cape Town and Durban. Thereafter they travelled to Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. Before returning to India they also visited Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi where satsang assemblies were held.
Another group of 42 sadhus, led by Pujya Kothari (Bhaktipriya) Swami, completed a satsang tour of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa between 2 December 2010 and 18 February 2011.
After the Golden Jubilee celebrations, the sadhus visited Jinja, Tororo, Iganga, and other BAPS Satsang centers in Uganda.
The satsang centers visited in Kenya included: Nairobi, Mombasa, Kakamega, Kisumu, Kisi, Sotik, Boyet, Sondu, Eldoret, Nakuru, Narok, Hathi River, Ruiru, Thika, Embu, Meru, Nairu and Machakos. The sadhus conducted over 800 padhramanis (home visits), daily morning and evening satsang assemblies and theme-based shibirs.
In Tanzania, the group visited Mwanza, Arusha, Ngezi, Tanga, Dar-es-Salaam and Kibaha.
A third group of seven sadhus led by Pujya Tyagvallabh Swami will conclude their satsang tour of Africa in late March 2011.
