More than 100 karyakars from Austria, France, Italy, Portugal, the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom gathered in the picturesque setting of Guincho Beach, in Cascais, Portugal for the third Europe Karyakar Shibir from Friday 17 September to Sunday 19 September 2010.
The shibir began with a delightful Annakut of over 350 dishes being devoutly offered to Harikrishna Maharaj on the first morning.
This year’s shibir, entitled ‘Likhitan Yagnapurushdas’, was themed around the rich corpus of historical letters communicated between Shastriji Maharaj and his contemporaries. Yogvivek Swami delivered six presentations elaborating upon Shastriji Maharaj’s clarity as well as tireless efforts in propounding the Akshar-Purushottam Upasana as revealed by Bhagwan Swaminarayan. The karyakars were given an insight into the difficulties Shastriji Maharaj experienced and how he overcame them, inspiring everyone to rise above the challenges they each face.
On Sunday morning, all attendees had the opportunity to offer their devotion to Harikrishna Maharaj during the Suvarna Mahotsav. In the afternoon, the Jal-Jhilani festival was celebrated in which five artis were offered to Harikrishna Maharaj as He ceremonially sailed in a small boat.
Over the three days, there were plenty of opportunities for karyakars from different countries to meet and learn from one another. Everyone departed thoroughly inspired and motivated to strengthen their personal satsang and seva in their respective regions.
