Two enlightening shibirs were held at ECU, Joondalup Campus in Perth, Australia: on 8 August for balaks and balikas and on 15 August for kishores and kishoris.
More than 30 BAPS children and 100 teenagers participated in the one-day shibirs which were based on the theme ‘Hinduism: Discover and Live’. Jnanpurush Swami and Adarshmuni Swami conducted the shibirs by presenting a variety of core topics such as karma, punarjanma, rites and rituals, guru-shishya relationship, dharma, murti puja and vegetarianism.
Inspiring video presentations helped to clarify many questions that are commonly asked about Hinduism. Everyone also took part in the interactive group activities which helped to further clarify the concepts introduced in the presentations.
Through these informative and inspiring shibirs the youngsters learnt about the importance of Hinduism in their daily lives and pledged to perform daily puja, bow daily to their parents and perform daily arti.
