BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Wellingborough held its annual Akhand Dhun on Thursday 1 January 2009. Fine weather welcomed the devotees from across the UK as sadhus and invited guests gathered for a twelve-hour Akhand Dhun. Devotees flocked to the doors of the Mandir from 7am and continued to arrive until 7pm in the evening to partake in the chanting of the Swaminarayan Mahamantra and have darshan of the “Akshar Deri” to pray for world peace and inner happiness. Refreshments and meals were also provided throughout the day.
