For the first time, a two-day satsang shibir was organized in Hong Kong on 5 and 6 May, 2006. Hong Kong is the business hub of Asia with a very fast and hectic lifestyle. BAPS activities have been running here since 1984 when Param Pujya Swamishri visited this busy city. Regular satsang assemblies take place on a weekly basis along with celebrations of major festivals. Many Hindus participate in these events.
Approximately 30 satsangis participated in the shibir with guidance from BAPS sadhus. The theme of the shibir was 'Akshardham nu Bhatu'. Lectures and video presentations focused on improving one’s daily personal practice of satsang, along with unity in the family and community. Some of the topics covered over the two days included: BAPS Ek Parivar, Aahnik, Gun-Grahak Drashti, Abhav-avgun, Akshar Purushottam Na Baladiya, Swamishri’s Seva Bhakti and Importance of Katha. Group discussions and question-answer sessions also helped to reinforce the theme of the shibir.
The shibir was a success and helped the satsangis in Hong Kong to consolidate their understanding and practice of satsang.
