25 January 2004, Sunday, Jersey City, NJ :
Jersey City celebrated “Vasant Panchmi” samaiyo with such joy and devotion on January 25, 2004. It is a day to celebrate Shastriji maharaj, Brahmanand swami and Nishkulanand swami’s birthdays along with the great moments when Shreeji Maharaj gave Shikshapatri to the Satsang. With simple decoration of a big cutouts of Bhrahmaswaroop Shastriji Maharaj and the front page of Shiksha Patri along with a few details on the right side of the stage, sabha started with Dhoon and Prarthana. A melodious kirtan “shidne rahiye re kangal re santo” written by nishkulanand swami was sung to create the appropriate environment. A small speech on the letters written by shastriji maharaj to his devotees and by his devotees back to him gave the idea of how difficult situation he must have gone through building the Mandirs and spreading the Akshar Purushottam Upasana. Kirtans such as “tara mukhni lavanta “ and “ rang lagyo mune “ were also sung to make the sabha interesting. A video of P.P. Pramukh Swami Maharaj singing one of his favourite kirtan: “shastriji maharaj no sang” was shown on the screen. As a climax of the sabha, a great parayan was done explaining how shastriji maharaj brought true mahima of akshar and purushottam in front of world by suffering so much himself. It was a very well done Parayan with the reference of the Vachanamrut. At the end, Sabha was lucky enough to have P.P. Swamishree’s Ashirvachan shown on the screen. India’s national anthem ‘ Jan Gan Man ‘ was sung in respect of republican day. Everyone departed with the thoughts of Shastriji Maharaj’s life and work.
