With the express wishes of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the first National Kishore-Kishori Vidyarthi Shibir, held at Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Neasden from 24th to 26th December 2004, enlightened minds and hearts, charging students with motivation and optimism to succeed in their studies. Swamishri commenced proceedings himself through a video recording of his blessings delivered during his visit to the U.K. earlier this year.
A series of seminars from kishores and sadhus focusing on practical approaches to study and preparation for examinations provided students with the ideal platform to overcome anxieties.
Swamishri has encouraged kishores and kishoris to progress into respectable careers which require qualities above and beyond academic success. Group exercises and presentations offered an ideal opportunity to demonstrate and enhance these qualities where participants were required to communicate and provide imaginative ideas with innovative techniques.
Breathtaking presentations of Swamishri, and the history of BAPS were highlighted. The Gurukul system of education was also considered. Two morning sessions of yogasanas relaxed minds and bodies, providing a diverse weekend for those who attended.
