The Southeast Regional KarCon was held in Jacksonville, Florida, From January 16th, 2004 to January 18th, 2004. Seventy-five Karyakars from the South East participated, representing Atlanta, Augusta, Charlotte, Tampa, Jacksonville, Melbourne, Miami, Orlando, Raleigh and Savannah. The karyakars consisted of Balika, Kishori and Yuvati Mandal. The focus of this inspiring shibir was based upon the theme, “Samarpan…Are We Ready?” Samarpan literally translates to: surrender or sacrifice. Throughout the duration of this shibir, karyakars were taught the benefits of samarpan in correlation with P.P. SwamiBapa’s arrival.
In order to further develop the respective mandals, presentations such as teambuilding activities, Sabha 202, Personal Contact, Reporting, and Leadership /Ownership were also presented at this shibir. Each mandal had an individual session addressed to detail the preparations for P.P. SwamiBapa’s stay in the Southeast. The Balika Karyakars prepared the days events for Bal/Balika Din, while the Kishori Karyakars brainstormed ideas for Kishore/Kishori Din, and the Yuvati Karyakars discussed for Yuvak/Yuvati Din. Ultimately, the goal was to come up with a clear, concise plan of accomplishments that need to be meet prior to the arrival of our Guru, Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
Within the walls of a beautiful hotel, situated along the coast of Northeast Florida, Karyakars from different centers enjoyed the bliss of samp as they performed puja together on the beach and had light evening sessions to demonstrate unity through various games. Overall, the highlights of this shibir involved a combination of taking a walk on the beach, learning of ways to develop their respective mandals and preparing for their beloved Guru.
