During the evening assembly, the students of The Swaminarayan School offered their talents before a tightly-packed haveli with a series of excellent group and individual performances. Dressed in their smart school uniforms, four pupils opened the evening’s programme with a wonderful speech in Gujarati, illustrating the cultural values instilled at the school. Three excellent kirtans followed, accompanied by rhythmical beats of the tabla, melodious sounds of the sitar and the soft notes from the flute, exhibiting the array of talents acquired by these young children. A colourful dance was then performed before a stunning musical tabla talent show impressed the audience. The grand finale demonstrated the Sanskrit skills of the pupils, chanting a succession of Vedic shlokas, followed by the respective translations in English. Viveksagar Swami discussed the achievements of the Swaminarayan School with pride, discussing the importance of cultural and social values.
The School has achieved first place in the Borough of Brent Performance Tables. The School has also constantly achieved high standards at Key Stage 3. The School is successfully preparing students for university entrance – giving them access to some of the best universities in the country, including Oxford. 100% of Sixth Form Leavers go to university.
Swamishri praised the young students and emphasised the importance of instilling moral values at a young age, offering his gratitude to the headmaster and the respective heads of the Prep School and Senior School with his personal blessings.
