As part of the Golden Anniversary Celebrations of the BAPS Children’s Forum, 150 balaks and balikas participated in a national adhiveshan from 24 to 25 April 2004. Children from seven centres – Nairobi, Eldoret, Mombasa, Kakamega, Kericho, Kisumu and Nakuru – gathered at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Nairobi for the competitions.
The children competed in three age groups: Group 1 - 6 to 8 years, Group 2 - 9 to 12 years; and Group 3 - 12 to 14 years. The adhiveshan comprised of two sections. In the Mukhpath section, children memorised Swamini Vatus, kirtans, Vachanamruts and Vachanamrut bindus, shloks and sakhis. In the Talent section, they participated in drawing, solo singing, solo instrumental and story telling.
The standard of performance by the children was very good. A total of 55 prizes were awarded in all competitions.
