Following the torrential rain in South Gujarat many areas were flooded, causing widespread damage and forcing many to evacuate their homes.
In the areas of Silvassa, Dadra-Nagar Haveli, Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Bharuch and Bodeli (Panchmahal), 2,000 BAPS volunteers served to help the afflicted.
The BAPS prepared and distributed 15,000 food packets and in Navsari over 2,000 people were served hot, freshly made food.
The volunteers also helped to prevent disease outbreak by spraying of disinfectant chemicals.
In addition, the volunteers helped people to clean their homes and BAPS women volunteers helped to prevent spoilage of grains.
Prayers were also offered at all BAPS Mandirs for the deceased and their families.
