4 January 2003, Sunday, Toronto, Canada:
The samaiyo started with Dhun and prathana at the Lotus feet of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Guru Parampara. The stage with the murtis of Akshar Purushottam Maharaj and the murtis of Guru parampara were befitting to the theme of the samaiyo. The first speech on the meaning of the word Diksha and various questions pertaining to it set the groundwork for the rest of the program. The kirtan extolling the prasang of the historic day of Aksharmurti Gunatitanand Swami’s Diksha prasang followed by a pravachan on Gunatitanand Swami explained the importance and significance of this prasang in the history of our sampraday. Kirtan “Shyam piya mori rang de chunariya” enlightened the audience that we too need to discard the materialistic colors of this world and merge and sublime ourselves into the divine color of God and His Saint. Prasangs of Shastrjii Maharaj’s diksha revealed to the audience that just as Gunatinanand Swami came upon this earth to spread the glory of Purushottam, Shastrjji Maharaj was born to spread the true glory of Akshar. Their life full of devotion centered around Shriji Maharaj was reflected through Premanand Swami’s kirtan, “Shyam hamare Nainan ke tare”. Finally, diksha prasangs and examples from the life of HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj proved to the audience that Shriji Maharaj has fulfilled His promise of remaining on this earth through His Gunatit Sant and that we too need to imbibe the qualities of a true sadhu in our lives to attain the bliss and happiness of Shriji Maharaj.
