ROM 13 centres throughout the UK, 128 childdren's activities coordinators attended this convention at London Mandir. The purpose of the convention was to guide the coordinators on how to improve personally and in the services they offer to the Sanstha. The convention focussed on two aspects: Discipline - self discipline, sabha discipline and general discipline; and Assessment - personal assessment, mandal assessment and satsang assessment.
A pre-convention pack was sent out to all, enabling them to come prepared.
The convention agenda of dance and dramas, interviews and ideas, presentations and practical guidance taught everyone how to progress.
As the convention sessions progressed, the inspiring blessings of Swamishri were displayed in big red letters, one sentence at a time:
Je seva mali chhe te mahan chhe...
Shriji Maharajni seva chhe, Satsangni seva chhe...
Tethi dhanyavadne patra chhe...
(This service you have got is great...
It is the service of Shriji Maharaj, the service of Satsang...
That is why you deserve congratulations...)
Coordinators gave reports on their centre's activities and also competed in a story telling competition. Prizes were awarded to the best performers.
Informative and inspiring speeches by the sadhus also gave valuable guidance to the coordinators. Driving home the convention's main message, Atmaswarup Swami said, "Charity begins at home. If we better ourselves - in the way we work and in the way we offer service - then bettering our mandal will happen naturally. Swamishri's life is an inspiration to one and all and if we see the way he has expanded the growth of the Sanstha, we can see that His flawless life and spotless character has motivated everyone around him."
The convention proved to be enjoyable and enlightening to all.
