This seventh volume of Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s detailed biography covers the period from 1991 to 1994.
Swamishri had now entered his eighth decade, but his energy and enthusiasm continued to out-pace everyone.
In 1991, Swamishri’s taxing vicharan continued, both in India and abroad. His vicharan took him from small villages in India to modern metro cities, blessing the homes of devotees, guiding people through personal counselling, public assemblies, letters and phone calls, and consecrating mandirs – all while completing his many other daily tasks.
His five-month overseas Satsang vicharan to the UK, USA, Canada, East Africa and South Africa consolidated satsang values among devotees there.
The highlight of this vicharan was the 31-day Cultural festival of India in America, through which Swamishri continued his efforts to nurture Hindu traditions, culture, heritage and spirituality among the diaspora. This milestone occasion also promoted inter-faith harmony and enabled everyone to experience the grandeur of India.
In America, devotees expressed their gratitude by honoring Swamishri in the Platinum Tula Mahotsav.
During his stay in London, Swamishri performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the historic shikharbaddha mandir in London, the first of its kind in Europe.
The year 1992 marked Yogiji Maharaj’s centenary. Throughout the year, Swamishri travelled extensively throughout India to promote the grand 33-day centenary celebrations scheduled at the end of 1992. Swamishri’s wish was to promote the glory of guru Yogiji Maharaj.
During 1992, Swamishri spearheaded and fast-tracked the construction of Swaminarayan Akshardham in Gandhinagar, envisioned by Yogiji Maharaj, and dedicated to the life, work and spiritual teachings of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Swamishri also ensured that all the enlightening exhibitions were operational.
The inauguration of Swaminarayan Akshardham marked the start of the grand Yogiji Maharaj Centenary Celebrations. These celebrations inspired many to lead an addiction-free, morally pure life.
