Three days of festivities and ceremonies were held to mark the 10th anniversary of the inauguration of the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Kalol, North Gujarat. The celebrations were held in the presence of Pujya Keshavjivan Swami (Pujya Mahant Swami).
7 March, Nagar Yatra
In the afternoon, around 1500 devotees participated in a colourful nagaryatra (procession). The 7 km route covered the major streets of the city.
Kirtan Aradhana
In the late evening, over 1500 devotees enjoyed the program of bhajans sung by BAPS sadhus and youths.
8 March, Women’s Assembly
In the afternoon, around 1300 women of all ages attended the special Women’s Assembly. Balikas and kishoris presented a delightful program of bhajans, speeches, skits and dances. Leading regional women dignitaries were also present.
Children’s Assembly
In the evening 235 balaks and karyakars presented an inspiring program depicting some of the motivating activities of the BAPS Bal Mandal: discipline in life, de-addiction campaigns, family assemblies, prayer campaigns.
Over 6,500 people attended the assembly, including children, parents and teachers of nearby schools.
9 March, Honoring of Shri Harikrishna Maharaj
In the morning, a special assembly was held in which devotees honored Shri Harikrishna Maharaj, in the presence of Pujya Mahant Swami.
Patotsav Mahapuja
In the afternoon, the 10th Patotsav (Inauguration Anniversary) Mahapuja was performed by 700 devotees, in the presence of Pujya Mahant Swami.
10th Anniversary assembly
In the evening, 9000 devotees attended the main 10th Anniversary Assembly. Based on the theme ‘A Mandir is God’s Gift’, speeches, a drama and dances depicted how mandirs inspire noble character, observance of discipline, faith, peace and positive life transformation.
