In February, 2002, Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj had performed the murti pratistha vidhi of BAPS Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Sydney, Australia. With time, as satsang grew, the need arose for a larger mandir.
Reconstruction of a larger Mandir was planned out on the same premises and the work was completed in 2 years time with the new mandir being opened on 12th May, 2013 in the presence of sadhus. Following a mahapuja ceremony, an assembly was organised to celebrate the efforts of all the devotees and well-wishers who helped in the making of the Mandir. Various dignitaries like the State MP of Parramatta, Dr Geoff Lee and the Lord Mayor of Parramatta, Mr John Chedid were present on the occasion.
The new mandir features a prayer hall, dining area and activity rooms for children and youth. The murti pratishtha of the new mandir is set to take place later.
