As the spiritual head of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, Pramukh Swami Maharaj has spent his life working to sustain the eternal values of Hindu Sanatan Dharma and to instill faith in God. He has inspired people to pursue morally-inclined lives around the world. His work and influence extend beyond the barriers of caste, creed, nationality, and religion. His contribution to society is summed up by his adage, ”In the joy of others, lies our own.”

With over 5025 centers and 1300 mandirs , Pramukh Swami Maharaj has inspired sadhus and devotees to lead a life centered on spirituality and to help others do the same. These mandirs and centers serve as epicenters for cultural activities. They serve as a bridge for younger generations to connect to their Indian culture and heritage. These mandirs are not just houses of worship but rather centers for the community to develop the individual and itself.

Pramukh Swami Maharaj has initiated around  sadhus who have dedicated their lives to the progress of society. He has also raised a force of 55,000 volunteers dedicated to giving back to their local communities.

His constant effort to better society has inspired BAPS Charities, the humanitarian arm of BAPS, to provide for the educational, healthcare, social, and environmental needs facing our society today. He emphasizes the need to serve with a personal touch based on selfless love and genuine concern.

The power to attract a single soul, to transform it, and to further it on the path to spiritual redemption is the greatest of all feats. To do all of that while living a life of compassion and selfless service is an even greater accomplishment. Pramukh Swami Maharaj has made that noteworthy accomplishment.
Pramukh Swami Maharaj has traveled to more than 17,000 towns and villages in 50 countries spreading the message of spirituality and universal harmony. He has lent a comforting ear, sharing the sorrows of more than numerous people through 250,000 padhramnis, or home visits, 810,000 personal consultations and phone conversations, and more than 700,000 letters read and replied.

His generosity has been recognized by spiritual, social, and political leaders from around the world and noted in world record archives and renowned publications. Yet his true distinction is that all these accomplishments have not reduced his deep sense of humility and devotion to God.
